Join Justice At Last in Welcoming Our New Staff

Justice At Last turns 5 years old this month and we are excited to share we are expanding our services and staff. We recently on-boarded 2 Advocates and 2 Legal Fellows. The Justice At Last Advocates provide comprehensive and compassionate case management, advocacy, community-based resource referrals, and crisis intervention. Our Fellows assist with legal advocacy to advance a broad range of legal issues affecting trafficked persons. We are delighted and honored to have such a dedicated and motivated team helping us provide holistic wrap around legal services. Please join us in welcoming the newest members to the Justice At Last team!


Advocate, Emily Sims

Emily Sims is a founding board member of Justice At Last, and currently serves in the capacity of advisor and advocate. Emily is the Founder of West Marin Advocacy, a community-based organization providing pro-bono services to survivors of family and community violence throughout Marin County. Emily advocates for the creation and implementation of equitable and inclusive services, particularly addressing the needs of LGBTQ+ youth, Native American youth, and undocumented survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and all forms of labor exploitation. Emily is a doctoral candidate in the Sociology and Anthropology Department at Concordia University in Montreal, and shares her time between Canada and California.  Please join us in welcoming Emily to the Justice At Last team!


Advocate, Sue Williams

Sue Williams joined our team in June as an Advocate. Prior to Justice at Last, Sue worked at San Francisco Women Against Rape as the Director of Recruitment and Training. Sue graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Fine Arts and an M.A. in Women and Gender Studies.  Please join us in welcoming Sue to the Justice At Last team!


Legal Fellow, Chloe Ramos Czabaranek

Chloe Ramos Czabaranek is one of two Legal Fellows at Justice At Last. She recently graduated from law school where she represented victims of crime, trafficking, and persons in removal proceedings as student counsel working with the Katharine and George Alexander Community Law CenterPangea Legal Services, and Santa Clara Law’s Ninth Circuit Immigration Appellate Clinic. Before law school, she was an external labor union organizer at SEIU 2015 in Oakland, CA where she helped healthcare workers organize a union in their workplace throughout all of California. Chloe graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.  Please join us in welcoming Chloe to the Justice At Last team!


Legal Fellow, Norah Cunningham

Norah Cunningham is one of two Legal Fellows at Justice At Last. She has worked on issues related to immigration, affordable housing, and workers’ rights through advocacy with California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc.ACLU Immigrants’ Rights ProjectHomeless Advocacy ProjectNational Housing Law Project, and USF Law’s Immigration Policy Clinic. Norah recently graduated magna cum laude from University of San Francisco School of Law with a Public Interest Law Certification, where she served as the Secretary and Community Chair for the Student Immigration Law Association, worked as the Managing Editor for the USF Law Review, received a Public Interest Law Foundation grant, and earned a Gold Pro Bono Award. Prior to law school, Norah graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Community Studies and Sociology.  Please join us in welcoming Norah to the Justice At Last team!
