We are thrilled to announce that our very own Executive Director and Principal Attorney, Rose Mukhar, has been selected to participate in this year’s O2 Initiative’s Sabbatical Award! This award honors dedicated nonprofit executive directors in San Francisco, Alameda, and Contra Costa counties with a three-month break for reflection and renewal. While this award allows executive directors an opportunity to recharge, it also empowers organizations in building their leadership capacity.

Rose will start her break on October 15, 2024, returning on February 1, 2025, and she will not be attending to any Justice At Last-related work while on sabbatical. This is much more than an extended vacation, it is an opportunity for Rose to have time for self-care, balance and harmony in life, all part of the sustainable work culture we strive for at Justice At Last. We have an excellent, experienced, and talented Leadership Team and they have been preparing for Rose’s absence with the help of the O2 Sabbatical Coach. They include Saerom Choi, Operations Director; Carolyn Kim, Legal Director; Kristy Cho, Programs Director; and Shilan Sheykhagaee, Finance Director.
