Managing Attorney, Carolyn Kim

She is an experienced anti-trafficking attorney that has over seven years of experience working directly with survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse. Before joining Justice At Last, she was a Senior Attorney and Training and Technical Assistance Program Manager at the Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking (CAST) in Los Angeles, CA. As a Senior Attorney, she provided training and technical consult to legal and social service providers across the United States on comprehensive legal services for trafficking survivors. Before joining CAST, Carolyn was a staff attorney at Bay Area Legal Aid located in Richmond, CA as well as API Legal Outreach in Oakland, CA where she represented survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in their immigration and family law matters. Legal Assistant, Mercedes Tseng
Mercedes is the newest member of the Justice At Last team. Inspired by the bravery of her younger sister who survived sex-trafficking in the United States, Mercedes actively seeks to be part of the solution to the problem of human trafficking. She’s interested in the intersectionality of technology, law, and anti-human trafficking–with emphasis on how technology can help survivors of human trafficking to navigate the legal system. Mercedes graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in May of 2019 with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies (ISF) studying the fields of anthropology, sociology, and linguistics. She also volunteers with the Anti-Trafficking Coalition at Berkeley (BATC); and studies coding in her spare time.
